According to an announcement issued by the division, it mentioned that ₹167.46 crore has been sanctioned for organising Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs, sensible school rooms and science labs throughout colleges. For upgradation of the DIET (District Institutes of Education and Training) schools into Centres of Excellence, 96% i.e. ₹43.23 crore of the ₹45 crore has been sanctioned this 12 months, with an assurance of additional allocation of funds in phases for changing the remaining DIET schools into Centres of Excellence.
Under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) scheme, a sum of ₹11 crore has been sanctioned for the development of 4 hostels for tribal college students within the State. This flagship programme of the Central Government goals at bettering the social and financial situations of tribal communities. The scheme shall be applied over 5 years from 2024–25 to 2028–29, specializing in holistic improvement of tribal-majority villages via higher infrastructure, schooling, healthcare, and livelihood alternatives.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Nyay Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN), funds to the tune of ₹210.5 crore has been sanctioned for the development of 79 hostels throughout the state in two phases. Last 12 months, solely 4 hostels had been sanctioned. This 12 months, nonetheless, the Centre authorised the highest-ever allocation for 79 hostels in Andhra Pradesh.
