Kerala Chief Minister is justifying brutal police assaults, says KPCC chief Sunny Joseph

Launching the Statewide protest in entrance of the Kunnamkulam police station, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president and MLA Sunny Joseph lashed out on the authorities, accusing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of justifying the inhuman and brutal police violence.

“The Pinarayi authorities refuses to offer the culprits the punishment mandated by regulation. Even after the entire of Kerala watched the surprising visuals of Mr. Sujith’s torture, the one one who has not seen it’s the Chief Minister,” the KPCC chief stated in his inaugural handle.

Mr. Joseph slammed the federal government for treating suspensions and transfers as mere eyewash. “Those who gang-beat an harmless youth are unfit to put on ‘khaki’ (police uniform). Instead of dismissing them, the federal government rewarded the officers with handy postings. That is the truth of Pinarayi’s justice,” he charged.

‘Glorified assault’

“The Chief Minister had even glorified the police assault on the Youth Congress employees—carried out with helmets and flowerpots—by describing it as a ‘rescue operation’,” Mr. Joseph stated. 

He additionally ridiculed the police reportedly providing ₹20 lakh to hush up the case. “Let them preserve that supply. When Mr. Sujith win the case within the court docket in opposition to them, that quantity can be utilized for paying the compensation,” he stated.

The KPCC president additionally introduced that block vice-president Varghese, who stood by Mr. Sujith and spearheaded the lengthy authorized battle, can be promoted to the District Congress Committee (DCC) govt.
