HRF calls for Collector-led probe into Kaikaluru Dalit assault case

The Human Rights Forum (HRF) has demanded a complete probe, underneath the management of the District Collector, into the Kaikaluru Dalit assault case.

A 3-member crew from the HRF visited Danagudem close to Kaikaluru, the place a Dalit, P. Ajay, was allegedly attacked with a knife by members of Kapu group. The crew learnt that the incident occurred on September 5 through the Ganesh idol immersion celebrations, when Ajay, who was on his approach to a ration store on a two-wheeler, honked to alert the revellers.

HRF condemned the silence of the State authorities on this topic, and demanded stern motion in opposition to all of the accused. They additionally demanded a Collector-led probe within the incident and motion underneath the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in opposition to officers for threatening the complainant with a rowdy sheet.
