Over 5,000 MCD employees, together with home breeding checkers, multitasking employees, and contractual subject employees, have been on strike since September 29, demanding regularisation of providers, equal pay for equal work, earned and medical depart, and compensatory jobs for households of deceased staff amid a surge in vector-borne ailments in Delhi.

Led by the Leader of Opposition within the MCD, Ankush Narang, AAP councillors joined the protest, accusing the BJP-ruled MCD of “felony neglect” of staff and public well being. “For the previous eight days, 5,200 MTS and contractual subject employees of the civic physique’s Malaria-Dengue Department have been on strike.
