The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday (October 7, 2025) trapped two officers from the Drugs Control Administration, Karimnagar district, and a personal particular person whereas accepting a bribe of ₹20,000 for an official favour.

Assistant Director Maryala Srinivasulu and Drug Inspector Karthik Bharadwaj have been arrested at Vijetha Hospital, Karimnagar, after they demanded and accepted the bribe by a personal middleman, recognized as Pulluri Ramu.

According to the ACB, the bribe was demanded for clearing the annual inspection of a pharmacy owned by the complainant. Officials stated the contaminated quantity of ₹20,000 was recovered from Pulluri Ramu, who had collected it on behalf of the 2 officers.
