Ministers flag off new buses and bus companies in prolonged routes in Salem

Public Works Department Minister E.V. Velu and Tourism Minister R. Rajendran inaugurated new buses and the service of buses modified to new routes and to prolonged routes on Friday.

At Salem New Bus Stand, the Ministers flagged off 5 BS VI buses that shall be operated in hill areas, 5 bus companies to new routes and 4 buses to prolonged routes. 

Speaking on the operate, Mr. Rajendran stated that after Chief Minister M.Ok. Stalin assumed workplace, steps have been taken to interchange the previous buses with new ones, and for the good thing about farmers, ladies, and college students in rural areas, buses have been operated on new routes and likewise on prolonged routes. Based on that, 5 BS III buses that operated in hilly areas have been changed with BS VI buses on Friday.

The new buses shall be operated from Salem’s new bus stand to Pattipadi Velur by way of Yercaud, Salem to Kottachedu by way of Yercaud, Salem to Semmanatham by way of Yercaud and Pelathur and Salem to Kolli Hills, the Minister added.

Explaining concerning the buses in prolonged routes, he stated that based mostly on the demand from the general public, the bus working between Edappadi and Tiruchengode shall be operated from Jalakandapuram to Konganapuram by way of Chitrapalayam, Samudram, and Pudupalayam.

The bus working from Sankari to Kanniyampatti shall be operated from Kanniyampatti to Jalakandapuram. The bus working from Salem Old Bus Stand to Omalur shall be operated by way of Sadaimariamman Temple. Likewise, the bus operated between Yercaud and Pattipadi Velur was prolonged to Sonapadi. The bus operated from the previous bus stand to Danishpet was prolonged to Periya Vadagampatti.

The Mecheri-Moolakadu bus will cowl Mallikundam, Unjakaradu, and Kacharayanur, the Minister added.

Later, the Ministers inspected the Kannapadi Foothills concerning the improve of the forest highway between Kanavai Pudur and Kannapadi.

District Collector R. Brindha Devi, MPs T.M. Selvaganapathi and S.R. Sivalingam, Mayor A. Ramachandran, and officers participated.
