Book on efforts of Mumbai police to fight underworld dons launched

The ebook The Brahmastra Unleashed offers a real account of the turf struggle unleashed by underworld dons like Dawood Ibrahim, Chota Rajan on the Mumbai streets within the Nineteen Nineties and 2000s, and the way the Mumbai police reined them again with the passing of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.

The creator and former Mumbai Police Commissioner D. Sivanandhan mentioned the ebook, launched greater than 25 years after the Mumbai blasts, is devoted to the work carried out by the Mumbai police in controlling organised crime by passing the act and thru numerous investigative processes.

The ebook was launched at a perform organised by Sundaram Natarajan Blind Free India Foundation, in affiliation with Chennai International Centre, within the metropolis on Sunday.

Yashovardhan Azad, former Intelligence Bureau officer from Mumbai, who labored with Mr. Sivanandhan to battle the underworld criminals, appreciated him for taking on the case to the High Court and Supreme Court for overturning the judgment of Judge Agyar, who termed the capturing of the criminals as pretend encounters.

Dr. Mohan Rajan, vice- president of All India Ophthalmological Society, additionally spoke on the event.
