A month-long overlap of courses and semester examinations for undergraduate programmes in Delhi University sparked an outcry from school members after the college just lately launched the tentative examination date sheet.

According to the schedule, semester exams for undergraduate programmes can be held from December 10, 2025, to January 30, 2026, whereas courses for the even semester will begin on January 2, 2026, leading to an overlap between ongoing exams and courses.

Prof. Mithuraaj Dhusiya, Executive Council member of DU, stated, “How can college students seem in exams in addition to attend courses concurrently for a complete month? How can academics invigilate, educate, and attend totally different analysis centres concurrently for a complete month? Do schools have the infrastructure to run each exams and maintain courses concurrently for one complete month?”

Abha Dev Habib, Associate Professor at Miranda House, stated, “Lakhs of scholars are speculated to take exams and courses of the subsequent sem concurrently! Teachers are supposed to show subsequent semester’s programs and do examination-related work – invigilation and analysis on the identical time.” She added that this can result in an “acute scarcity of area”, and push many courses on-line.
