The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested two cleansing employees at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, for allegedly attempting to smuggle foreign-origin gold valued at ₹1.6 crore, officers mentioned on Sunday (October 19, 2025).

Investigations point out a smuggling syndicate that used worldwide passengers to hide gold within the plane on arrival, which was later retrieved by the airport employees with insider entry, an official mentioned.

The two accused, workers of an airport companies firm, have been apprehended on Saturday (October 18, 2025) the official mentioned.
