The police mentioned a 22-year-old lady from Tripura, residing together with her husband in Maduravoyal, lodged a criticism stating that she was allegedly raped by a motorbike taxi driver, who additionally threatened to kill her. According to the criticism, on final Sunday night time, she booked a bike-taxi on a car aggregator app to journey to Pallikaranai.
After finishing her work, she requested the driving force to drop her again house, to which he agreed, telling her that he would wait.
However, throughout her return journey on the bike within the early hours of Monday, the driving force took a unique route, led her to a darkish and remoted space, grabbed her by the neck, threatened to kill her, and raped her.
Based on her criticism filed on the Vanagaram Police Station, the police started an investigation and confirmed the veracity of the sufferer’s assertion.
Following this, a case was registered and the accused — Sivakumar of Odaipatti taluk in Theni district — was arrested.
The two-wheeler used within the crime was seized. The accused was remanded in judicial custody.
