Childless couple, lady held for kidnapping toddler, 2 juveniles detained

The Delhi police arrested three individuals and apprehended two juveniles over two days on Tuesday and Wednesday in reference to the kidnapping of a 27-day-old toddler in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar. The police have rescued the toddler after being kidnapped for 21 days by the juveniles.

“The baby was rescued safely and returned to the couple. They are poor avenue distributors and had been sleeping on the highway under the metro line when the incident occurred. The investigation is on to determine whether or not the couple had been concerned in different related incidents to acquire a baby,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Darade Sharad Bhaskar stated.

Having been married for 15 years, a childless couple – Shubh Karan and Sanyogita – together with Maya, their neighbour, hatched a plan, earlier this month, to abduct a new child from a homeless couple.
