Anna Nagar resident Indumathi Balaraman stated the residents have demanded that the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) restore potholes in Anna Nagar Sixth Avenue.
“Owing to heavy site visitors motion on potholes, formation of positive aggregates on the highway and a layer of mud within the neighbourhood has led to well being points. Our home is polluted. Conservancy employees hardly ever clear the broken portion of the highway. The situation of the highway will worsen as soon as it rains. We have requested the GCC to do patchwork earlier than the rain,” she stated.
Nanganallur resident S. Saravanan stated many roads within the space have been broken after the onset of the Northeast monsoon.
Ward 42 councillor M. Renuka stated patchwork on 5 roads had been delayed as contractors claimed that bringing moist combine from Gummidipoondi to the town was a problem as they weren’t certain when it could rain. Ward 84 councillor J. John stated roads in Korattur reminiscent of Thirumullaivoyal Road, Vinayagar Koil Street, Patravakkam Brahmin Street, Korattur Brahmin Street, Tamil Street and Kanniyamman Koil Street have been broken and residents have complained that restoration work has been delayed.
Ward 104 councillor T.V. Shemmozhi stated the GCC officers have assured that they are going to restore broken highway floor earlier than the rain subsequent week.
