According to police, Jasmine, 36, spouse of Mohammed Taslim of Aachaalpuram, Maanganampattu Main Road, who lives together with her two kids had locked her home and gone on September 29, 2025 to remain at her father’s residence close by. Her husband is employed overseas.
When her father visited Jasmine’s home early on October 1, he discovered the primary door damaged open.
Burglars had allegedly entered the home, damaged open a bureau, and decamped with 32.5 sovereigns of gold jewelry and ₹40,000 in money. Based on her grievance, the Aanaiakaran Chathiram police registered a case.
Following directions from Mayiladuthurai Superintendent of Police G. Stalin, IPS, a particular crew was shaped underneath the supervision of Sirkazhi Deputy Superintendent of Police Annadurai and led by Inspector Raja (Aanaiakaran Chathiram Police Station) and Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar (Kuthalam Police Station).
During investigation, police traced the suspects — Ezhilendhi, 45, of Kaanai, Villupuram district; Sethupathi, 19, of Puthupattinam; and Thivalagar, 32, of Dargahs Street, Puthupattinam. The trio was arrested on November 11.
On interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to their involvement within the housebreaking. Police recovered 15.5 sovereigns of gold and ₹7 lakh in money from them. They have been remanded in judicial custody.
