Minister expresses ire over pending works at Veligonda mission

Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu, together with a staff of irrigation specialists, inspected the Veligonda mission works in Prakasam district for the second time in every week on Wednesday. He expressed deep dissatisfaction and ire over the unfinished works of dewatering within the feeder canal, collapsed culverts and twin tunnels broken resulting from current Cyclone Montha.

Speaking to representatives of the companies which have undertaken the development work and the officers chargeable for monitoring it, he mentioned, “The dewatering work and filling of the ditches should be finished on a war-foot foundation, however they’ve been pending for every week. It should be accomplished quickly to ship justice to probably the most backward and fluoride-affected district.”

“Since the coalition authorities got here to energy, the liner of 12,000 metre of the entire 19,000-metre feeder canal has been accomplished.
