The organisers of the centuries-old competition didn’t proceed with conducting the occasion, which was speculated to be held from November 2-8, after the DDA granted a “restricted permission” and postponed it to March 2026.
In a letter submitted to Mr. Saxena, Usha Kumar, secretary of the Anjuman Sair-e-Gul Faroshan society that organises the competition, expressed gratitude for his intervention however stated that “they haven’t obtained a proper communication from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA)”.
“We have come to know from newspapers that you simply [V.K. Saxena] have intervened within the matter and that DDA has given permission to make use of Aam Bagh for the occasion. We want to specific our gratitude to you in your intervention. But, thus far, we have now not obtained any official data on this regard,” Ms. Kumar wrote.
She added that regardless of being requested to fulfill the DDA vice chairman, the assembly didn’t materialise after a number of schedule modifications on Wednesday.
