Air India crash: Ministry of Civil Aviation clarified pilot not being blamed, Centre tells SC

The Air India pilot has not been blamed within the AAIB’s preliminary report into the June 12 aircraft crash that claimed 260 lives, the Centre instructed the Supreme Court on Thursday (November 13, 2025).

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi was instructed by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) probe crew into the aircraft crash was fashioned below the worldwide regime and there’s a statutory provision for it.
