Venezuela eager to extend cooperation in crucial minerals sector with India

Venezuela has expressed eager curiosity in enhancing cooperation with India in crucial minerals sector and appeal to investments, the commerce ministry stated on Saturday (November 15, 2025).

It was mentioned in a gathering between Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of Ecological Mining Development of Venezuela Hector Silva in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

“During the meeting, the Venezuelan side expressed interest in expanding economic engagement with India beyond the oil sector, including cooperation in critical minerals and attracting Indian investment,” it stated.

Mr. Goyal emphasised the necessity to reactivate the India-Venezuela Joint Committee Mechanism, whose final assembly was held a decade in the past.
