Telangana Rising 2047: focus to be on enabling factors to attract, retain skilled talent

Creating an enabling environment where entrepreneurial, creative and diverse talent can relocate, work and build long-term careers with confidence, in the State, will be a focus of the Telangana Rising 2047 vision Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led government is set to unveil early December.

EduCity, financial incentives and quality of life are the components of the three-pronged approach through which the government will achieve the objective. Setting the backdrop for such an emphasis and the strategy as well is the role of talent in economy. The ability to attract and retain highly skilled individuals has emerged as a key determinant to economic competitiveness over the next two decades, per the draft of the document.

On the role of EduCity, the government said with the setting up of world-class universities and innovation hubs, in the Educity, that spark collision of ideas Telangana aims to become a magnet for creativity, learning and enterprise. Such a vibrant environment will strengthen Telangana’s appeal as a destination where top talent chooses to live, learn and innovate. The EduCity will be envisaged as a globally connected ecosystem that attracts and nurtures diverse talent.

But it is the financial incentive component, among the three, that is set to be a gamer changer. Telangana will offer the most competitive financial incentives, including relocation support, start-up seed funding, research grants, performance-linked fellowships and tax benefits to attract top talent, the document showed.

On the quality of life advantage, the State government will prioritise safe, inclusive and well-connected living environments that enable professionals and their families to feel secure and supported. The emphasis will be on further improving access to quality healthcare, education, recreation and spousal employment opportunities to strengthen overall well-being.

Telangana will be emerge as a natural home for global talent seeking both purpose and quality of life on the back of the State’s enduring strengths — policy continuity, stable governance and forward-looking leadership.
