Hema Malini, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol give heartfelt tributes to Dharmendra on his birthday

Hema Malini, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and others from the family paid their tributes to Dharmendra on his birthday today (December 8, 2025). The legendary actor passed away on November 24 last month at the age of 89.

Hema took to X (formerly Twitter) to share old photos with Dharmendra. In one of them, she is seen giving him a piece of cake. Hema wrote a long note in the caption, remembering Dharmendra, saying, “More than two weeks have passed since you left me heartbroken, slowly gathering up the pieces and trying to reconstruct my life, knowing that you will always be with me in spirit. The joyful memories of our life together can never be erased and just reliving those moments bring me great solace and happiness. I thank God for our lovely years together, for our two beautiful girls who reaffirm our love for each other and for all the beautiful, happy memories that will remain with me in my heart.”

In his first post since Dharmendra’s death, Sunny shared a small video of his father where he is sitting by a cliff, enjoying the view. Sunny wrote in Hindi in the caption, “Today is my father’s birthday. Papa is always with me, inside me. Love you papa. Miss you.”

Bobby shared a photo with Dharmendra and wrote a poem in the caption in his remembrance. In it, Bobby highlighted the charming nature of his father and his ability to spread love and happiness. He ended the caption, saying, “Proud to be yours. Happy Birthday, my precious Papa. Love you forever and always.”

Dharmendra’s nephew, Abhay Deol posted an old photo with him and shared the story behind it in the caption. “Must’ve been 1985 or ‘86. I had just been scolded so I was upset. He called me to him, sat me down by his side and said, “look at the light”, and had the photographer click this pic. I look forward to the moment I hear him say those words to me again, when my time comes. Today was his birthday,” he wrote.

Dharmendra’s daughter, Esha Deol also shared a few pictures with him and wrote a long note in the caption, highlighting how his “teachings, guidance, love and warmth” will stay with her forever. “I so painfully miss you papa … your warm protective hugs that felt like the cosiest blanket, holding your soft yet strong hands which had unspoken messages & your voice calling out my name that followed with endless conversations, laughter & shayaris. I promise to continue your legacy with pride & respect. And I will try my best to spread your love to the millions who love you as I do.”
