58 IndiGo flight cancellations at Hyderabad airport on December 9

Flight disruptions continued at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Tuesday (December 9, 2025), with 58 IndiGo services cancelled for the day. The airline cancelled 14 arrivals and 44 departures, marking the first occasion since December 4 that the daily tally of cancellations has fallen below 100.

Several major routes to and from Hyderabad were affected, including Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Cochin, Visakhapatnam, Varanasi, Patna, Srinagar, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Bagdogra, Chennai and Jodhpur. Although the overall number of cancellations has reduced, disruptions on key routes have continued to cause inconvenience to travellers, many of whom took to social media to express their frustration.

One passenger wrote that IndiGo had assured customers it would stabilise operations by December 10. “I have a flight booked for December 11 from Hyderabad to Kozhikode. Late last night I received a message saying the flight had been cancelled. This has impacted my further railway tickets as well as hotel bookings,” the user said.

Another stranded flyer, Subrata Paul, described his situation. “My flight from Hyderabad to Bangalore was cancelled today. Came from Ranchi to Hyderabad, now trying to book a bus to go to Bangalore.”

Another passenger said his travel plans collapsed mid-journey. “I had a flight from Bangalore to Kolkata via Chennai. First, the airline changed the layover from Chennai to Hyderabad. When I landed at Hyderabad airport, I was informed that the connecting flight to Kolkata had been cancelled.”

IndiGo, in a statement issued on Monday (December 8), said it had operated 1,800 flights that day, up from 1,650 on December 7. The airline added that ₹827 crore in refunds had already been processed, with the remaining amount due to be completed for cancellations up to December 15.
