Speaking at the event he said “CIBF 2026 will create a new chapter in the international literary exchange of Tamil Nadu. As many as 100 countries are expected to participate.”
The fourth edition of CIBF will be held from January 16 to January 18, 2026 at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai.
This year, the organising committee of the Frankfurt International Book Fair will be the Guest of Honor at the Chennai International Book Festival. Further, CIBF 2026 will also feature special sessions by the French government for Tamil Nadu publishers, discussions on the Turkish government grant, Bologna Children’s Book Fair – painting, design, cartoon and translation sessions and Iranian government illustration instructional classes among others.
Launched in 2023, CIBF creates a platform for publishers, translators, literary agents to directly engage in book licensing exchanges, and cultural and literary exchanges.
School education Secretary B. Chandra Mohan, Director of Public Library S. Jayanthi, Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation Managing Director M. Aarthi and School Education Director S. Kannappan and other officials of the School Education department were also present.
