Lakshmi Parvathi accuses Naidu of using NTR legacy for diversionary politics

YSR Congress Party State general secretary Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi on Saturday alleged that TDP chief and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu repeatedly invokes the legacy of former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao whenever his credibility is questioned. She dismissed the renewed focus on an NTR statue as diversionary politics.

Addressing the media in Hyderabad, Ms. Lakshmi Parvathi noted that Mr. Naidu promised an NTR statue at Neerukonda as early as 2014 but never delivered. This failure, she said, belies his sincerity in invoking NTR’s legacy.

Appealing to NTR admirers, she urged them to recognise Mr. Naidu’s repeated betrayals. If he truly respected NTR, she added, he should secure the Bharat Ratna for him, reverse medical college privatisations, and complete long-pending public works across Andhra Pradesh.

Ms. Lakshmi Parvathi called on BJP leaders to address the alleged misrule by Mr. Naidu and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. She plans to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing TDP leaders of tarnishing the State’s reputation through tolerance of gambling, rooster fights, and casinos. She warned that Mr. Lokesh’s so-called ‘red book’ governance style would ultimately backfire on Mr. Naidu.
