Telangana Municipal Polls 2026 LIVE updates: 11.% polling till 9 a.m.

The voting to elect Councillors and Corporators in the Telangana Municipal Polls-2026 began at 7.00 a.m. on Wednesday (February 11, 2026). The polls are being conducted in 2,569 Wards in 116 Municipalities and 412 Wards in seven Municipal Corporations across the State. The polling percentage till 9 a.m. was 11.6%, according to information from Telangana State Election Commission.

People can download their voter slips and navigate to their polling stations using Te-Poll app with the help of their EPIC numbers.

After its major success in the Gram Panchayat elections in December last year, the ruling Congress aims to consolidate its position as the dominant party in state politics, while the BJP hopes to emerge as a credible alternative to both the Congress and the BRS. Having suffered setbacks in the 2023 assembly polls and 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BRS performed decently in the Gram Panchayat polls and is keen to make substantial gains in the municipal elections to reverse its fortunes.

The polling ends at 5.00 p.m. If there were to be any re-polling, it would be conducted on Thursday (February 12, 2026). The votes polled will be counted on February 13. The results would be declared soon after conclusion of the counting.

After administration of oath to the elected Ward Members (Councillors or Corporators) at 11 a.m. on February 16, indirect elections to Mayor/Chairperson or Deputy Mayor/Vice Chairperson would be held.
