District Collector Priyanka on Saturday (February 21, 2026) handed over a copy of the new rolls to representatives of political parties. The list has 1,39,151 more voters compared to the draft rolls published following enumeration while total of 1,83,271 voters have been removed from the pre-SIR list.
The pre-SIR list had 26,53,065 voters and the draft published on December 23, 2025 comprised 23,30,643 electors.
Female voters have outnumbered male voters in the fresh list with 12,66,891 women against 12,02,881 men. The list also comprises 22 transgender voters.
Among the 14 Assembly constituencies in the district, Kalamassery has the highest number of voters with 1,95,291 electors in the list. It is followed by Piravom (1,93,075) and Aluva (1,92,212). The figures for the rest of the assembly segments are as follows: Paravur – 1,89,626, Kunnathunad – 1,85,970, Thripunithura – 1,84,625, Muvattupuzha – 1,83,772, Perumbavoor – 1,78,238, Thrikkakara – 1,73,135, Kothamangalam – 1,70,341, Angamaly 1,67,727, Kochi – 1,62,401, Vypeen – 1,59,497, and Ernakulam – 1,33,884.
Compared to the pre-SIR list, highest number of voters has been deleted from Ernakulam constituency – 32,399. While 28,286 voters were deleted in Thrikkakara, 27,036 went out of the list in Thripunithura. High number of floating population in the urban constituencies has been cited by officials as the reason for the higher number of deletions. Angamaly, Kochi, and Piravom are the only constituencies that saw over 10,000 deletions. Perumbavoor has the least number of deletions with just 2,432.
The final list was prepared after conducting hearing and verification for voters who either could not be linked with the base rolls of 2002 or those found to have logical discrepancies including spelling errors in their entries. Of the 4,06,389 voters who required verification, only 2,996 were removed from the final list. Voters who died during the SIR phase, shifted to other locations, and relinquished Indian citizenship were deleted from the list.
The final list also includes 1,07,781 voters who were enrolled anew and 4,411 NRI voters. While 1,07,781 applications under form 6 were received from voters for fresh enrolment, 6,329 applications through form 6(A) were processed for enrolment of NRI voters.
The collector said strict action will be taken against those who submit false information for enrolment to voters’ list and those who attempt to sustain multiple entries in the rolls.
