The 50-share NSE Nifty dropped 157.80 factors, or 0.63 per cent, to 25,062.10.
From the Sensex companies, Trent, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HCL Technologies, and NTPC have been among the many greatest laggards.
However, Eternal, Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Tata Steel, and Titan have been the gainers.
Infosys declined over 1 per cent amid profit-taking after its June quarter earnings announcement.
In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index, Shanghai’s SSE Composite index and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng settled in constructive territory.
