The Union #Textiles Ministry is taking a look at new schemes for the sector other than contemplating the Production Linked Scheme – II (PLI – II).

The Union Minister of State for #Textiles #Pabitra Margherita instructed the media in #Coimbatore on Monday (June 30, 2025) that the Ministry is dedicated to improvement of the complete textile worth chain, from handlooms to technical textiles. The textile stakeholders are asking for PLI- II. While the federal government is contemplating it, there can be different schemes too, he mentioned.

Regarding the calls for of the trade to calm down the Quality Control Orders (QCOs), he mentioned the federal government is taking inputs from the trade on trade-related points.

The commerce unions demanded reopening of #National #Textile Corporation (NTC) mills in #Tamil Nadu. Mr. Margherita mentioned, “They have submitted their calls for and appeals. Our Ministry may be very a lot in contact with them (commerce unions). We are with the workers of NTC. We would resolve their issues. We are optimistic that the calls for of the NTC folks can be fulfilled.”
