Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Launch Live Updates: Price, Variants, Range, Colours

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara packs a host of safety features including ADAS Level 2 suite, 7 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes and electronic parking brake along with brake hold function. There is a TPMS, a 360 camera, Acoustic Vehicle Alarm System at low speed and an emergency SOS button for instant helpline.

The interior of the SUV packs a lot of modern equipment including a wireless charger, seat ventilation, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, fixed glass sunroof, a floating console with the electronic gear shifter, sound by Infinity and the list continues.

On the inside, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara gets a dual tone finish with high quality materials. There is a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel and four vertically stacked AC vents lined with chrome bezels. The use of gloss black touches all around the interior further adds to the premiumness of the e Vitara’s cabin.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is offered with multiple drive modes, including Eco, Normal, and Sport. The Eco mode gives the most range while the Sport mode gives the best performance. Normal mode allows for a balance between the two. Additionally, there are regen modes, and a Snow mode is also provided for better grip on slippery surfaces.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara works on a high-capacity battery made up of a total of 120 lithium-ion cells. Maruti Suzuki claims these individual cells have been tested for durability and safety to make sure they can handle penetration and/or various loads. These cells have been rated to operate at a temperature range from -30 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be offered in a total of ten colour options, including four dual-tone options. These include Nexa Blue, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Bluish Black and Opulent Red. Out of these, the dual-tone colours will be Arctic White with a bluish black roof, Splendid Silver with a bluish black roof, Opulent Red with a bluish black roof, and Land Breeze Green with a bluish black roof.

When the very first unit rolled off the production line, Maruti Suzuki’s Managing Director and CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, described the exports as a key moment for the company. He quoted, “The start of export of e Vitara to Europe is indeed a proud and defining moment for us. To delight customers in over 100 countries, the product has to be truly world-class in terms of technology, design, safety and performance.”

The e Vitara, being an all-electric, gets a closed-off front grille. The overall SUV looks modern and has a premium design, equipped with LED projector headlights, Y-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRL), and front fog lamps. The side profile comes with black cladding and 18-inch aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels.

The new Suzuki e-Vitara is priced at 29,999 Pounds (approx. ₹35 lakh) in the UK for the base variant, rising to 37,799 Pounds (approx. ₹44 lakh) for the top-spec variant. Maruti Suzuki offers a 10-year/160,000 km warranty on the vehicle and the battery in the UK.

The first unit of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara was rolled off by PM Narendra Modi in Gujarat on August 26. The eVitara represents a strategic milestone for the company as it steps into the electric mobility segment. The model is expected to boost Maruti Suzuki’s EV ambitions both domestically and internationally.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara in the 49 kWh guise with a front-wheel drive setup produces 142 bhp and 193 Nm of torque internationally. The larger 61 kWh pack is available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants. The FWD motor makes 171 bhp and 193 Nm, whereas the AWD version churns 181 bhp and 307 Nm of torque. The power figures will likely remain the same for the Indian market.

Drawing data from the variants launched in the European markets, we can also get a slight idea of the expected range that the e Vitara is going to offer in India. The carmaker claims a range of 344 km for the 49 kWh battery pack and up to 426 km with the 61 kWh battery pack.

Maruti Suzuki had already showcased the e Vitara to the Indian audiences at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 held in New Delhi at the start of this year. The EV attracted a large number of eyeballs with the way it looked.

The UK market model suggests battery options with 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery capacities. In the units sold internationally, both these packs are capable of reaching over 80 per cent charge in 45 minutes using a DC fast charger.

The Heartect-e Platform by Maruti Suzuki is specifically designed for EVs. The platform has been jointly developed by Suzuki and Toyota, featuring a flat floor to maximise interior space, a lightweight structure, and battery protection.

The electric SUV is expected to face tough competition in India as it contends against rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, etc. It also easily one of the most awaited electric cars in the Indian passenger vehicle market.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara was crash tested by Euro NCAP resulting in a healthy four star score out of five. Built on the Heartect-e platform the EV SUV achieved 77 per cent grade in Adult Occupant Protection, 85 per cent grade in Child Occupant Protection, 79 per cent for Vulnerable Road Users and 72 per cent score in Safety Assist.

Maruti Suzuki has already begun selling the e Vitara in 12 European countries including United Kingdom, Germany, France, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria and Belgium. The carmaker is producing these units at its plant in Hansalpur, Gujarat. Additionally, the e Vitara will be exported to over 100 countries, according to the manufacturer.
