These are the All-India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS) and the Situation Assessment Survey (SAS) of Agricultural Households.
“Both of those nationally consultant surveys are scheduled to be performed from July 2026 to June 2027,” MoSPI stated in a press launch.
“The AIDIS is certainly one of India’s most important surveys on family finance,” it added. “The SAS of Agricultural Households, first launched in 2003, is designed to evaluate the financial circumstances of farming communities.”
According to MoSPI, the AIDIS offers “vital” knowledge on family indebtedness and asset possession throughout each rural and concrete areas.
“Its findings are instrumental in shaping nationwide accounts, assessing inequality in asset distribution, understanding credit score markets, and informing insurance policies of the Reserve Bank of India, MoSPI, and different authorities establishments,” it stated.
The SAS of Agricultural Households, however, consists of knowledge on agricultural family earnings and expenditure, indebtedness and entry to credit score, land and livestock possession, crop and livestock manufacturing, farming practices and using expertise, and entry to authorities schemes and crop insurance coverage.
“The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, NITI Aayog, researchers, and monetary establishments utilise the survey findings to form insurance policies and programmes geared toward agriculture and rural growth,” MoSPI famous.
It added that it has uploaded the draft idea notes and schedules of each surveys on its web site and has invited policymakers, researchers, farmer teams, monetary establishments, and most people to share their suggestions.
