Mr. Thirumavalavan requested whether or not the Government of India has the info concerning the variety of objects that have been rejected by international nations for need of high quality and consumption security and whether or not the Government of India is conscious of the variety of international nations which have rejected and banned Indian merchandise for need of high quality and security.
In response, MoS Jitin Prasada, mentioned each nation faces problems with rejections as a consequence of varied non-tariff measures together with high quality and ‘phytosanitary requirements’, packaging/labelling and many others/ imposed by international nations.
“However, through the years, GoI has taken varied measures for high quality consciousness together with high quality management orders, alignment of requirements with worldwide benchmark, thereby enhancing the worldwide competitiveness on account of which the variety of Indian merchandise rejected by importing nations have registered a decline of 12.5% in June 2025 in comparison with June 2024,” he mentioned.
He added, “Agencies resembling Export inspection Council, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), different Commodity boards, Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) monitor such instances often and take acceptable corrective and preventive measures.”
