Elon Musk calls Australian government ‘fascists’ over proposed misinformation law

Sydney: Tech billionaire Elon Musk, the owner of X platform, called Australia’s centre-left government “fascists” on Friday over a proposed law to slap fines on social media firms for failing to prevent the spread of misinformation online. This came as Australia’s Labour government unveiled a legislation which could fine internet platforms up to 5 per cent of their global revenue for enabling misinformation.
