85th edition of Numaish to open in Hyderabad on January 1 with expanded safety, transport and civic arrangements

The exhibition will continue till February 15 and will be open daily from 4 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. on working days, and till 11 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays

The 85th All India Industrial Exhibition, popularly known as Numaish, is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 1 at the Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad, with elaborate arrangements in place for security, fire safety, transport connectivity, medical services and visitor convenience. The exhibition will continue till February 15.

The exhibition will remain open daily from 4 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. on working days, while on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays it will operate until 11 p.m. The entry ticket has been priced at ₹50 per person, while children below the age of five years will be allowed free entry.

Connectivity to the exhibition grounds will be supported by enhanced public transport arrangements. Metro Rail services from Gandhi Bhavan and Nampally Metro stations will run with increased frequency and extended operating hours to match exhibition timings. The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will also operate special bus services to the venue, said Minister for Industries and Commerce D. Sridhar Babu during a press conference on Sunday.

Free parking facilities for two-wheelers and four-wheelers will be available around the exhibition grounds at Gruha Kalpa, Chandra Vihar, Gagan Vihar and Bhimrao Vada, the open compound adjacent to the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) office building. An automated multi-level paid parking facility will also be available near Handloom House, located less than 100 metres from Gate No. 1 of the exhibition grounds at the Gandhi Bhavan entrance.

“A total of 106 security personnel will be deployed at the gates and within the premises to ensure visitor safety and prevent prohibited items from being brought into the grounds. In addition, 138 day volunteers will assist visitors, with particular attention to women and elderly persons, while 76 night volunteers will be deployed to safeguard the belongings of stallholders. The entire exhibition grounds and surrounding areas will be under CCTV surveillance, with 120 cameras installed,” the Minister added.

Extensive fire safety measures have also been put in place. Two underground water storage tanks with a capacity of 1.5 lakh litres each have been installed and connected to 82 fire hydrants, maintaining constant water pressure of 7 kg per sq cm. As many as 45 trained volunteers will monitor the hydrant system. Additionally, two fire engines with a capacity of 10,000 litres each will be stationed within the Exhibition Grounds by the Fire Department throughout the event.

A total of 1,050 manufacturers and artisans from different parts of the country, along with local participants, will be showcasing their products. Around 20 food stalls will serve a variety of cuisines.
