A vibrant torchlight procession, headed by a music band, and that includes lanterns wrapped in colors of the nationwide flags of France and #India, marched down the #Promenade Beach on Sunday on the eve of #Bastille Day in reference to the celebration of French National Day on July 14 (Monday).
The symbolic night time march, that started in entrance of the Dupleix Statue and ended close to the constructing of the #French Consulate on Goubert Avenue, was to indicate the storming of the Bastille jail in 1789, a defining level within the #French Revolution.
The procession was launched within the presence of Etienne Rolland-Piègue, Consul General of France in #Pondicherry and #Chennai, who can even lead the #Bastille Day ceremonies on Monday.
