ACB books deputy transport commissioner in DA case; searches find properties worth over 12 crore

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets (DA) case against Mood Kishan, Deputy Transport Commissioner of Mahabubnagar district, after searches at multiple locations revealed movable and immovable properties valued at ₹12.72 crore. Officials stated that the market value of the seized property is significantly higher.

According to the ACB, the officer is accused of acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income by allegedly indulging in corrupt practices and dubious means during his service. The case has been booked under Sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018.

Searches were conducted on December 23 at the officer’s residence and 11 other locations linked to his family members and associates.

During the searches, the ACB detected extensive assets, including a 50% share in Lahari International Hotel in Nizamabad, ownership of a 3,000 sq yards Royaloak Furniture space, residential flats, 31 acres of agricultural and 10 acres of commercial lands in and around Nizamabad, a polyhouse and shed spread over 4,000 square feet, bank balances exceeding ₹1.37 crore, gold ornaments weighing over one kilogram, and two high-end cars.

The ACB said further verification of additional assets is underway and the case remains under investigation.

Issuing a public advisory, the ACB appealed to citizens to report any demand for bribes by public servants through its toll-free number 1064 or via its official WhatsApp and social media channels, assuring confidentiality to complainants.
