The landslip introduced down a big amount of soil and plenty of timber on September 19 night on the sixth hair pin curve in Tirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district on Malpe-Tirthahalli National Highway 169A. A pick-up car was crushed beneath the particles. Its driver was injured. He is claimed to be recovering in a hospital in Manipal.

Agumbe and Hebri Police launched a joint train to clear the particles together with NH-PWD personnel from Friday. Fallen timber had been eliminated by 9 am on Saturday, adopted by clearing of soil particles, NH-PWD Assistant Executive Engineer Manjunath Naik mentioned.
Hebri Police Sub Inspector T M Mahesh mentioned the Ghat was opened for vehicular visitors by round Noon.
