Members connected to Peelamedu and Singanallur city branches of CPI (M) staged the protest at Singanallur Karumbukadai maidanam.
“This a vital highway that connects Singanallur on Tiruchi Road with Hope College on Avinashi Road. The current situation of the highway is posing menace to motorists because the cuts shaped after laying pipeline haven’t been levelled absolutely. Several accidents, together with a deadly one which killed an inspector, occurred as a result of pathetic situation of the highway. The restore works must be accomplished on the earliest to save lots of lives,” stated R. Moorthi, Singanallur city secretary of CPI (M), who headed the protest.
He stated Kamarajar Road must be widened contemplating the rise within the inhabitants and vehicular site visitors. It is alleged that the highway was 60-80 ft large many years in the past, he stated.
