Former Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Goel and a number of other delegations of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) in #Delhi held a protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday calling for presidency motion to regulate the rising “road canine menace” within the Capital.

Mr. Goel expressed issues over the alarming rise in stray canine assaults, saying, “The major victims are kids, girls, and the aged. Parks have turn into unsafe, kids have stopped enjoying open air, and other people concern even stepping out for a stroll.”

He mentioned there are 7 lakh canine within the metropolis. “Sterilisation alone is now not enough; mass relocation and correct infrastructure are obligatory,” he mentioned, including that aggressive canine must be relocated to designated shelters, the place they are often given particular care.

“It is just not the accountability of RWAs to handle stray canine. This is the federal government’s obligation. We must implement a transparent and efficient ‘No Dogs on Streets’ coverage now”, the Mr. Goel mentioned.

A poster on the protest web site demanded ‘stern motion in opposition to these feeding canine on the road’.

Earlier within the week, the Supreme Court, whereas listening to a #Noida-based petitioner’s plea alleging harassment in feeding stray canine, remarked, “Why don’t you feed them in your personal home?”
