Acting on a tip-off acquired by the Anti Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU), St. Thomas Mount police carried out a surveillance operation close to Maduvankarai Bridge, Alandur, on Sunday morning. They intercepted 4 people and, upon investigation and search, discovered them in possession of OG ganja and ganja.
Police arrested the accused Valluar Manojkumar, 23, of Kolapakkam, Bernard D’Silva, 27, West Tambaram, Manish Choudhary, 22, Padur and Anand, 29, Anakaputhur. Police seized 150 grams of OG ganja, 1.05 kg of ganja, and 4 cellphones together with three iPhones from them.

In the meantime, Mylapore police carried out surveillance behind the Santhome Church, Mylapore. They questioned a person within the space, however his responses had been inconsistent and evasive. Growing suspicious, the officers searched him and located that he had a number of small plastic containers crammed with heroin on the market.
Following this, a case was registered on the Mylapore Police Station, and the accused — Khuthus Mia, 25, of Bejimara, West Tripura — was arrested. Police seized 51 containers of heroin, weighing roughly 35 grams in whole, from his possession.
