Kolathur police arrested a gang of 5 for allegedly promoting land to a 3rd occasion by fraudulent means with out the proprietor’s data. 

The police mentioned that in 2022, Nandakumar, 44 of Periyar Nagar, was searching for a bit of land to purchase. He approached Ramesh Kumar, who, claiming to be an actual property agent, had posted on social media about 1200-sq.ft. land at Poompuhar Nagar in Kolathur. When he expressed curiosity, Ramesh Kumar took him to a different agent, Murali, who possessed the land paperwork. Nandakumar verified the paperwork and located that the title of the land was within the title of 1 Dileep Kumar, who in flip granted energy of legal professional to at least one Venkatesan to promote the land. 

During negotiation, Venkatesan agreed to promote the property for ₹92 lakh, within the presence of a person who claimed to be Dileep Kumar. A sale deed was executed and the property registered in Nandakumar’s title on the Sub-Registrar workplace at Sembium in September 2022.

The following month, Nandakumar obtained a letter from the Sub-Registrar workplace informing him of the cancellation of the registration because the sellers had deployed an impersonator in Dileep Kumar’s title to execute the sale deed fraudulently utilizing cast paperwork. He then lodged a grievance with the police, searching for motion towards the fraudsters who cheated him of ₹92 lakh. 

Based on his grievance, Kolathur Police registered a case and arrested 5 males – Venkatesan, 54 of Thirunindravur; Kalilur Rahaman, 50 of West Ambattur; Sayid Salahuddin, 40 of Manali New Town; Abdul Razaq, 73 of Erukkanchery; and Abubucker, 51 of Kodungaiyur.
