India is third largest vehicle market: Nitin Gadkari

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday stated the dimensions of vehicle business within the nation has grown from ₹ 14 lakh crore in 2014 to ₹ 22 lakh crore in 2025. 

Speaking after laying the muse for a grade separator, street widening work, and dedicating a brand new street mission in Puducherry, the Minister stated the nation has turn into the third largest vehicle market, surpassing Japan. The nation now stood third after the United States and China by way of vehicle market dimension. The business has created 4.5 crore jobs and has contributed immensely to the export sector, he stated.

On adopting varied sustainable practices, the Union Minister stated municipal waste was getting used within the building of roads. So far, 18 lakh tonnes of municipal waste have been used and the Ministry deliberate to encourage the usage of waste for street infrastructure tasks. Tractor producers are inspired to introduce flex-fuel, ethanol, CNG, and electrical engines. The electrical tractors may assist farmers save as much as ₹ 1. 5 lakh yearly, he stated. 

He added that the logistics price within the nation has come down from 16 % to 10 % and it’ll additional scale back to 9 % by December as a consequence of improved street infrastructure. Earlier, Mr Gadkari laid the muse for the ₹ 436 crore grade separator connecting Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi squares, ₹ 25 crore widening of East Coast Road from Kalapet and inaugurated the newly laid four-lane street from Puducherry to Poondiyankuppam.
