IMD Mumbai issued a warning of intense rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) in elements of north and central Maharashtra, together with Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, Aurangabad area, Beed, and Nanded.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a crimson alert for Mumbai on Saturday (August 16, 2025) as the town grapples with waterlogging in a number of areas.

Between August 15 and 16, 2025, Mumbai recorded heavy rainfall with common totals of 99.61 mm within the City (CT), 142.80 mm within the Eastern Suburbs (ES), and 144.57 mm within the Western Suburbs (WS).

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has suggested residents to keep away from stepping out until needed. Overnight showers have led to extreme waterlogging in a number of elements of the town, together with the Milan Subway, Kurla, Chembur, Gandhi Market, and Andheri.

    2 killed, two injured as landslip hits Jankalyan Society: BMC

    Amid the relentless downpour, a landslip struck Jankalyan Society in Varsha Nagar, Vikhroli Park Site (West Mumbai), claiming two lives.

    According to Dr Nikhil, AMO, Rajawadi Hospital, 4 injured have been reported, out of which two have been introduced lifeless, and the situation of two individuals stays steady.
