The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a crimson alert for very heavy rainfall for 10 coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh on Monday, August 18. The districts underneath crimson alert are Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitharama Raju, Kakinada, East Godavari, Konaseema, West Godavari, NTR, and Guntur.

The Jammu and Kashmir authorities ordered the closure of all academic establishments within the Jammu area on Monday (August 18, 2025) in view of the inclement climate circumstances, officers mentioned.
