Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) normal secretary N. Anand alias ‘Bussy’ Anand and joint normal secretary C. T. R. Nirmal Kumar have moved the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court searching for anticipatory bail.

They are apprehending arrest by Karur police in reference to the ‘stampede’ incident at Velusamypuram in Karur district, by which 41 individuals died in a ‘stampede’ on the TVK occasion’s Karur rally on Saturday night time.

The case of the prosecution is that Karur West district secretary V.P. Mathiyazhagan sought permission for conducting the TVK occasion rally in Karur between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. with an anticipated crowd of 10,000 individuals. However, round 25,000 individuals had gathered.
