NCPCR seeks report on alleged ragging of Class 9 scholar at Delhi Public School, Nacharam

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sought an inquiry and motion report into an incident of alleged ragging and assault of a Class 9 scholar at Delhi Public School, Nacharam, after receiving a grievance.

The Commission stated the grievance, filed by Karupothula Revanth, raised critical considerations concerning the security and safety of scholars on the varsity premises.

According to the grievance, the coed was bullied by a bunch of classmates throughout a birthday celebration on the varsity campus. The complainant alleged that the boy was publicly humiliated, verbally abused, falsely accused of inappropriate behaviour, and kicked on his personal elements, leaving him injured and bleeding.

Taking cognisance of the incident below Section 13(1)(j) of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005, the NCPCR directed native authorities to conduct an inquiry and guarantee accountability from the varsity.
