The 17.192-kilometre street that connects Pavangad with Ullyeri via Purakkattiri and Atholi is a part of the National Highway 38 (Pavangad-Ulliyeri-Kuttyadi-Chovva street) and the state authorities has already sanctioned ₹82.36 crore for its improvement. The plan is to develop the street right into a 14-metre vast two-lane street.
Based on the research carried out by V.Ok.Consultancy, Thikkodi, 5.251 hectares of land must be acquired. The street is at current fairly slim within the city areas of Atholi and Andikkode and has a number of harmful curves.
The plan is to accumulate land from 1,107 house owners, of which 53 are non secular establishments. At least 9 homes should be demolished utterly, whereas 11 must be partially demolished. At least 96 business institutions might be instantly affected, whereas one other 210 might be partially affected. As many as 390 distributors and round 116 staff work in these institutions.
The improvement can even require the widening of the bridges at Purakkattiri and Eranhikkal as they’re too slim (8 m). The report suggests constructing footpaths or cycle tracks parallel to the present bridges to keep away from mishaps when the autos enter and exit the bridge.
The State Highway 38 is 43.20 kilometres lengthy. The second attain of it, from Ulliyeri to Kuttiadi, might be developed within the second section of the challenge undertaken by the Kerala Road Fund Board.
