Heavy vehicles will not be allowed on Chennai–Tindivanam GST Road, and similarly, the Greater Chennai City Police (GCP) has prohibited the flying of drones or unmanned aerial vehicles. A seven-tier bandobust arrangements with deployment of 3,500 police personnel have been made where the meeting will be held.
Police said the Prime Minister is likely to arrive by a special aircraft from Thiruvananthapuram at around 3.30 p.m. to Chennai Airport on Friday. From the airport, he will fly by helicopter to the venue near Maduranthagam.
The Chengalpattu district police said, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to operate on the GST Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday. The light motor vehicles and government-run buses will not be allowed to use this stretch between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Traffic diversions
During this period, traffic on the Chennai–Tiruchi route and the Tiruchi–Chennai route will be diverted through alternative routes. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., heavy vehicles from Chennai towards Tindivanam can take the route of Vandalur, Kelambakkam, Mamallapuram, and East Coast Road (ECR) to reach GST road in Tindivanam.
Heavy vehicles from Chennai towards Tindivanam direction, can take alternate routes such as Vandalur, Padappai, Oragadam, Walajhabad, Kanchipuram, Vandavasi, Thellar, Vellimedu Pettai, Theevanur to reach GST road in Kooteripattu junction, or they can proceed through Sriperumbudur, Ranipet, Arcot, Arani, Thiruvannamalai, Thirukoilur, and Villupuram to reach the GST road.
Heavy vehicles from Tiruchi towards Chennai should proceed through Ulundurpet, Madappattu, Thirukoilur, Thiruvannamalai, Vandavasi, Kancheepuram (Palar- Sevilimedu junction) and Keelambi by-pass to Chennai.
Heavy vehicles from Salem will be diverted towards Prithivi Mangalam, Thiaya Durgam, Manalurpet, Thiruvannamalai, Vandavasi, Kanchipuram (Palar- Sevilimedu junction), and Keelambi by-pass to reach Chennai.
Heavy vehicles originating from Tindivanam can use the Marakkanam and ECR route to reach Chennai.
