SPIC MACAY southern regional conference celebrates classical and people arts

Nearly 300 contributors from Southern India participated within the Southern Regional Convention 2025 of SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) hosted by the Shirmati Indira Gandhi College within the metropolis final week.

Apart from witnessing a slew of efficiency by numerous artistes, the contributors underwent intensive hands-on coaching beneath the senior artistes through the four-day occasion. After two-hour yoga classes within the morning, the coaching lined numerous artwork kinds together with tholpavakoothu (Shadow Puppetry), bommalattam, mohiniyattam, kuchipudi, kathak, kathakali, carnatic vocal, terracotta pottery, palm leaf weaving and cheriyal portray.
