The Forest Minister, who stirred up controversy along with her feedback in October 2024, made the announcement after Mr. Nagarjuna filed a legal defamation grievance in an area courtroom. The grievance accused Ms. Surekha of constructing defamatory statements towards Mr. Nagarjuna and his household, as her feedback concerned his son Naga Chaitanya. The courtroom had earlier recorded the assertion of Mr. Nagarjuna and others.
She withdrew her remarks within the wake of sharp reactions from political leaders and the Telugu cinema business. In a submit on ‘X’, Ms. Surekha mentioned her feedback will not be supposed to harm Mr. Nagarjuna or his members of the family.
“I had no intention of wounding or defaming Akkineni Nagarjuna Garu or his members of the family. I remorse any unintended impression given in my statements in relation to them and withdraw the identical,” she added.
