Traffic curbs in Puducherry for Vice-Presidents visit

The Puducherry police have imposed traffic restrictions in view of Vice-President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan’s visit to the Union Territory on Monday (December 29, 2025).

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Nithiya Radhakrishnan, vehicle movement will be restricted on the Airport Road, East Coast Road, Indira Gandhi square, Rajiv Gandhi square, Sivaji Square, Villupuram Road, Maraimalai Adigal Salai, Bussy Street, Anna Salai, Gingee Salai, Ambour Salai and S.V. Patel Salai.

All vehicles headed towards Puducherry from the ECR will be diverted from the Kilputhupattu Iyyanarappan Temple area.

Mr. Radhakrishnan is scheduled to attend the 30th convocation ceremony to be held at Pondicherry University on Monday (December 29).

All vehicles headed towards Puducherry from Tindivanam Road will be diverted towards Villianur via., Mettupalayam truck terminal. Similarly, vehicles coming from Cuddalore will be diverted at Thavalakuppam.

Vehicles headed towards Indira Gandhi square from Cuddalore will be diverted at Marappalam junction while vehicles coming towards Indira Gandhi square from Villupuram will be diverted at Arumparthapuram junction.

The SSP said, “The following areas have been designated as No Parking zones on Monday (December 29) till 6 p.m.: Airport Road, Lawspet, ECR, Rajiv Gandhi square to Indira Gandhi square, Maraimalai Adigal Salai to Odiansalai junction, the stretch of Bussy Street from Odiansalai junction to Ambour Salai, the stretch of Ambour Salai from Bussy Street to Perumal Kovil Street, the stretch of S.V. Patel Salai from Ambour Salai to Ajantha junction, the stretch of Eswaran Kovil Street upto Mission Street, the stretch of Anna Salai from Ajanta signal to Anna Salai 45-feet Road junction, the stretch of 45-feet Road from Anna Salai to KG Pallam and the stretch of Puducherry to Villupuram Road upto Moolakulam.

District Collector A. Kulothungan has declared the entire Puducherry region as “No Fly Zone” on Monday (December 28).
