Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi advised the media that 101 property offences have been reported within the metropolis in July this 12 months. Special investigation groups arrested 66 offenders in reference to 64 circumstances through the month and recovered properties value ₹83,08,150. Further, 250 stolen cell phones value ₹37.50 lakh have been additionally recovered, taking the whole worth of recovered properties to ₹1,20,58,150, he mentioned.
The 64 circumstances that have been detected included two circumstances of theft, 4 circumstances of house-breaking by day, 11 circumstances of house-breaking by evening, one case of snatching, two circumstances of automotive thefts, one case of autorickshaw theft, 19 circumstances of motor-cycle thefts, 5 circumstances of wire thefts, one case of non-public property and 18 circumstances of peculiar thefts, Mr. Bagchi mentioned.
As a part of preventive measures, 374 CCTV cameras have been put in at varied locations within the metropolis throughout July, and 138 crime consciousness conferences have been held. Drone beats continued in remoted areas for surveillance over criminals and unlawful actions, he mentioned.
