The Barke police on Sunday arrested a 28-year-old girl on costs of dishonest an electronics store to a tune of ₹1.98 lakh by presenting invalid cheques.

The accused has been recognized as Farida Begum, the spouse of Ramiz Raja, a resident of Muttur village. According to police, Farida bought three high-end laptops via an acquaintance from the complainant, Jayaram, who runs Laptop Bazar at a mall on Mahatma Gandhi Road.

However, the cheques she introduced for the acquisition had been pretend, thus forcing the store proprietor to file a criticism with the Barke police, which registered a case of felony breach of belief and dishonest towards the accused. Investigating Officer Vinayak Toragal and ladies police personnel arrested Farida underneath the steering of Police Inspector Mohan Kottary. She was produced earlier than the jurisdictional Justice of the Peace, who remanded her to judicial custody until November 3, police mentioned.
